You can buy A ticket from ticket machines or ticket from office which is at Hounslow stations, or from some local shops such as newsagents. However, it is suggested to use an electronic card called an Oyster card as it is cheaper and more suitable for you.

You cannot travel without a valid ticket.  If you travel without or with invalid ticket, you will have to pay a fine. You have to buy a ticket, in case, you have a travelcard which is only for certain zones. You have to buy a ticket extension before travelling for the places which are not in these zones.

If you are 18 years old or over, you have to buy an adult ticket. For kids who are between 5 and 15, there is lower child fare if you are between the ages of 5 and 15. You can also get 16 Oyster photocard. There are special fares for those who are between 16-17 years of age.  Fares do not apply for the Children under 5. Students who are studying in London for a long period of time are eligible for a discount and can apply for special student photocard. A single Tube ticket cannot be used for more one journey on the underground.
